Many apologies for missing a couple of weeks of posts for this! Realfoodieclub is taking a break - but I'll be honest, I dropped the ball on this one... sorryyyy π
Anyway, I hope those of you on this Quest have been keeping at it and having fun! Please be careful in the hot weather, take your time and drink plenty of water πππ
There will be a new Quest starting next week! πππ
What is the Quest?
The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
The Quest takes one calendar month. You can join at any point during that time.
We ask that you are a C25K Graduate before joining the Quest. The reason for this is that pre-graduation your week is very much structured according to the C25K programme, and we wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:
β To run three times a week
β To slowly increase distance
β To train for a specific race
β To add Stretch and Strength exercises to your weekly routine
The Quest is a personal challenge, so it's completely up to you!
Happy running and/or cross-training!!!

the news from me is I managed that solo 10k run and then went with Mr Bbr for an enjoyable 4.5k run 2k walk along the river bank and back through the golf course.
Since last weekend though I have been feeling a bit under the weather with a bad throat and headaches and haven't felt like a run. Its been so hot anyway, I am calling it a rest week!π
I do need to get back into running mode again, this forum helps so much with that. I plan to run on Wednesday, a try it and see run....will report back.
No worries Roseabi, I think we all understand the pressures you guys come under at times from the true social idiots , as opposed to the running fools like me you're used to dealing with daily β¦..
Whatever, I've achieved both my targets this month with a long slow 20k in 2 hr 18 (paced to 9k by Dexy5 ) and a race-pace 14k in 1 hr 20 (5'45"/k average). Both on the lovely Billy trail on Hayling Island. I also slipped in a sub-25 tourist parkrun at Hanworth as a bonus. I might have another go at the 14k tomorrow if the weather suits - the last two days have been impossibly hot though we managed 4k up and down the prom yesterday evening. Bu the main target for the rest of the month is to don pirate gear and escort Cap'n Dexy as she completes her 50th Parkrun on Saturday, with assistance from a motley crew including, motorways permitting, Mr and Mrs Coddfish , cheekychipmunks , JonathanP , Wimborne and maybe even Couchpotato2 .
Still on course, (ha ha...) for my Spitfire Run on Sunday. An eclectic mix of runs, but, three times a week.. and a regular exercise regime has been resumed. I am happy that I feel like a runner again after the IC !
I did revisit my 14k race-pace run this morning, and was very pleased to get the time down to 77'09", so a 5'31"/k average pace, with all the splits between 5'26" and 5'37" apart from a 5'14" finish. Didn't think I was going to manage that pace for that distance, so happy days
My Quest for June is to not have a Quest!I have been logging runs and walks every day for one challenge or another* since 28th June last year so now I am just going to go out and run three times a week. I usually run about 6km but sometimes feel like doing more.
So far this non-Quest has been too successful - I forgot to update my spreadsheet yesterday
I will of course still be logging my (not)parkrun times.
* GNR Solo, LeJog, Lanzarote Virtual runs, COGH challenges. HU 10K and Vitality 10K
