That was a tough one.

A reasonably pleasant 18°C when I set off. Feeling quite comfortable at the 5k mark; not too fast, not too slow, and then it happened.

The sun came out and the temperature climbed.

Not surprisingly, my pace fell asleep the mercury rose. The last 2k were all about putting one for in front of the other and I was damned if I wasn't going to get to the end.

25° at the end. Us pale skinned Scottish types aren't made for running in that.

Never has a post-run shower felt so good.

Well done SF! It’s so hard keeping any kind of pace up in this heat, I agree. 🥵🥵

And you can have what in France we call a Scottish shower: with cold water! Felt so nice post run.

Yes me too thought it was a lot cooler today here in scotland, but no 15 minutes into the run it was boiling but we do it anyway 😊😊

Your Scottish grit was grittier than my Welsh grit today, I stopped when the temperature suddenly rose at 4k, and the walk home nearly melted me!

4k is still 4k and not to be sniffed at. Remember when we couldn't even dream of running that far...

I'm sure "normal service" on the weather Front will resume pretty soon.

I was pretty proud of myself just for going to be honest, but credit where credit is due, you did great.

Oh yes. 20C is a break point for me. After that there has to be shade! Well done for finishing & hope you didn’t get sunburn. Red face from heat fades faster.... 😄🥵

No, I'd spf30ed before I went out. I pretty much won't leave the house without it.

Something to consider.

Whatever the temp and then you get warmed-up add on 5C which is what it really feels like. So high 20s takes you into the thirties.

Plenty water before and after.
