I am sad and shocked that the administration s felt the need to put the above headed post up.
Since joining this forum in January when I took up C25K I have found this forum a fantastic place to find support encouragement and advice without prejudice or judgement and I love it.
Sadly some sad people have not accepted the forum for what it is. Unfortunately it isn’t just here. It’s everywhere and is a sad indictment of our society today. I call it the Brexit society but that again is just a personal opinion.
I would say if you can’t participate in the forum in the way it is set out to be then leave. Nobody wants you here.
The administrators, all volunteers, do a fantastic job and are always on hand to offer advice and pertinent warnings when necessary. We should, and 99% of us are, extremely grateful for all they do to keep this forum up and running. Long may it continue!

Although less post active now I'm a long term member of a cancer forum. By the nature of the disease emotions can run high thus allowance is made for that. However over the years, including pre Brexit, admin have had to put in place increasing safeguards to prevent those who wish to cause trouble from doing so. My theory on why is society seems to have gone down the path of those who shout loudest win the day. Sad.
I’ve been a member of these forums for over 2 years now and thankfully have never seen or come across any negative behaviour. This is wonderful friendly place. I’m not a fan of social media, I don’t do Facebook, Twitter or instagram because of over posting and ridiculous behaviour on social media. 90% of which is false and exaggerated. I am only on Strava and this forum.
Well done to the 99.9% of members and the admins for keeping this forum a lovely friendly and encouraging place to visit.
I've just replied to Molly who started a similar thread and yes, this is a special place and we need to work hard to keep it that way, and not abuse the good nature of the volunteers who keep it running.
We type and post, where we used to write, put in an envelope, queue at the post office for a stamp and then post. Not worth that much effort so we didn’t bother. A flash of irritation or anger, which in the past would’ve gone nowhere can be now instantly expressed
It seems that like on Twitter and Facebook people feel that on-line isn’t real life. 😞
Good morning Chris. Well I totally agree with your post apart from one little comment. You see Chris I am one of those from the Brexit Society of which you speak of.
However let me assure you in no uncertain terms that I did vote for Brexit but I am neither sad! ( In fact I’m happily married, recently retired from NHS after 30 years and enjoying every minute! ) nor am I part of the sad indictment of our society today. I cannot understand why people need to be so abusive and quite frankly portray their childish behaviour for all to see so you see I do agree with you.
I love this forum and have been on here for about 3 to 4 years now apart from a little break last year and take great joy in reading about everyone’s running experiences. I dip in and offer my experiences occasionally and take advice from others and learn from others too. I mean isn’t that what this forum is supposed to be about.
So on that note Chris . Have a great day and happy running!😀😀
I watched the spat unfold. I think it was a classic case of things typed and read without the benefit of gestures and facial expression and vocal intonations, and therefore open to (mis)interpretation and much subsequent umbrage and things that were not meant.
Here’s a hearty cheer to the admins who give their time to make this platform run smoothly (pun intended...)
