EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR ON THE FORUM

This post has also been put on the C25K forum.

Some of you may be aware that a couple of days ago there was the need to delete an abusive post on the Bridge to 10k forum. This was the result of a flare up between two popular members of the forum, the back details of which are not clear to any of the admin staff.

The original poster of the abusive post has been given a final warning and both members have been recommended to take a cooling off period. We are loathe to ban anybody outright, but this sort of behaviour is inexcusable and disrupts the friendly and supportive atmosphere of the forums.

This happened at a time when our head of admin, Realfoodieclub, has taken a break from the forums as a result of the stresses imposed by members private messaging her. The rest of us are holding the fort, but incidents like this put an extra burden on those of us who give our time for free to try to make these forums the special places that they have been for many years. We do not want to be policing the behaviour of adults and expect everybody to respect one another. On occasions there may be disagreement between members. That is fine, we are all adults, but it is not acceptable to escalate that disagreement into personal abuse. If tensions are building, just do the adult thing and walk away from it.

I have been following the C25K forum for over six years and in that time there have only been a handful of such incidents and while they sour the atmosphere, they are soon forgotten. These forums are such a success because of the non judgemental, inclusive and supportive ethos that pervades them. Please help us maintain that by being considerate and respectful of others, whether they agree with you or not.

If you have an issue that you want to report, then you can use the REPORT button, under the MORE arrow at the bottom of each post. While we admins are available to be private messaged, we would appreciate that you only do this if you cannot find another way of solving your issue. We are all volunteers with our own lives to lead.

LET'S KEEP THIS PLACE HAPPY AND FRIENDLY.

They will be soon, if someone interrupts their weekend to do it.

Thanks.
