I did it π. Not going to lie it was really hard at some points and really awesome at some points. The straight up hill in the last .2 miles nearly did me in and I nearly told my running friend who pacing me that I really didnβt give a %*#? If I finished but came across the line 2 1/2 mins faster than I was hoping for.
What I have learned is I am a creature of habit I prefer to know the route better. I misjudged the turn around point and mentally it was really hard. Also Flat Course is in the eye of the beholder as there were to extremely steep uphills that also meant two extremely steep down hills.
Interestingly about 1/2 a mile from the finish I kept telling my running partner the same thing I told my husband when I was transitioning in labour both times π.
I survived and I am off to claim my 10K badge
