I am still in Quest. The last week of the July Quest is done! Quite successfully I feel. Now too is run one of August week 1
Not fast by any means, but done! Looking back at my last two quest weeks courtesy of my phone and RockMyRun free app, I am getting better.
At my age I am quite happy just to run for thirty ish minutes three times a week. That is my plan. My Quest each week.
At JSR plod speed that doesn’t quite get me to 4K, but close!
Looking back over my results over six plods, my average pace has gone from 10.05 to 08.43. I know that you proper runners will argue the toss about SPM & cadence, speed and distance etc. You are welcome to do that and feel that it is important. I am just happy to be fitter, lighter and generally more cheerful. If I am a wee bit faster this week, that’s a bonus, not my aim.
Any runners out there who are struggling? You are not last! I am plodding along trying to catch up enough to read what is printed on the back of your shirt. Keep up the good work and just enjoy your running.

I'm a snail too hatman but like you I am finding that I'm gradually getting a little bit faster! Not particularly because I'm trying to, it just seems to be happening as I continue to run every week!
Just read your “got to 60 minutes” post, which I’d missed. Well done you! 👏🏼 I trundled along for 57 this morning finishing a podcast, so I’m just behind you. 😊
Well you are there then! I'd have done 57 if it hadn't been for Ian turning up. Well to be honest maybe 54. I'm finding a real liberation in owning my inner snail. I gave up running in school because I was slow and my face went an unbecoming puce. I'm still slow and my face is still puce and now I don't care. That's rather wonderful.
So there are quite a few of us Snails & Tortoises about! Well done Hatman on your regular running! I’m finding that steadiness of 3x a week is excellent for building the legs and increasing the enjoyment. Nice to know there’s a VRB out there on the same quest.
I’ve been extending time for one run a week, and phone says the shorter runs are now a bit quicker. No plan there, just happening. 😄 I’m just behind you, reading the writing on the shirt.... 🏃🏼♀️
