3 week delay to Juju's plan after taking a tumble. Glad to be back!!

Just at start of week 4, stupidly tripped and fell heavily- suspected wrist fracture, squished nose and chin, various scabby grazes and bruises to knees and elbows. Worst bit was walking back to the car whilst trying to look nonchalant with my swollen, bloody nose! Anyway, three weeks later wrist almost back to normal (it wasn't broken, thankfully!), scabs mostly gone. Completed week 4 today with 8km run at my favourite place, feeling great!! Breathing was fine, no apparent loss of fitness. Sad the fall happened, but makes you realise what you are missing when you can't get out. Taking things a little slower, and being more watchful of trip hazards now!

Glad it wasn’t a serious fall. It does knock confidence though. I’ve had two falls in recent months. Both because a) I wasn’t concentrating and b) I was a little tired. I’ve realised when I’m tired I lean forward and my head goes down. Apparently this reduces the ability to lift my feet. Hence squished nose, bruised chin etc. So now I check in with myself to make sure my back is straight and I’m looking forward. So far so good. No tripping!

Glad you’re back on form. 😊🏃🏻‍♀️

Two falls-oh no,poor you! Yes, I'd gone off into "the zone" (daydreaming!) and tripped over a raised plank on a wooden bridge I had crossed countless times before. I don't intend doing that again!

Welcome back... nice comeback run!

Sorry to hear about your fall and injuries... but thankfully they weren’t as bad as they could have been... and they were sporting injuries, I half smile when I get one of those, it beats putting my back out putting my socks on 🤣

Ha! Yes, a badge of honour of sorts! Hope you didn't really put your back out putting on socks...?

I used to... and if I had to pick them up off the floor I needed a sit down to stop sweating and get my breath back... that was last spring... now I’m a runner and don’t have these issues.

So glad you are okay after your fall and it hasn’t put you off running. I had one on the magic plan too but got out on the pavements again as soon as I was allowed. I volunteered at parkrun so I could cheer others on instead. Happy days 🏃‍♀️👏👏

Happy comeback running Jeani. 8km is a great distance and I get what you mean by being careful.
