Will this do?

My two runs this week. Tuesday, a hot sticky 5k along the canal. Not enjoying it and thought I'd have to cut it short but at 4k I realised I was running better, had enough left in the tank to keep going to 5k. Yesterday, a cloudy but muggy day, legs were like lead 😦 I nearly stopped at 4k but managed to keep going to 4.5. When I checked later it was about a half an hour. What a strange week! I had considered doing a 10k run for life on Sunday, but I can see I'm not ready, this recovery needs a bit more time. Gah! Frustrating but going to listen to my body. Just wish it would make its mind up 😌

Sounds to me as though you are doing just fine grumps, maybe just a bit quick yesterday? I haven’t run for a week since my 13k... just come out of what turned out to be a 2 day migraine ☹️. Still, ready to warm up and have a crack at a slow 5k right now!! You are being sensible and building up gradually...you will definitely run further next week 👏👏👏👏👍

Yes maybe, I'll go and find some snails to take along with me next time. Two day migraine though, that's nasty 🙁 good luck with your 5k

Sounds good! Do the 5km race for life, it’s good fun

I thought about that, but they aren't taking any more registrations for 5k only 10. I don't trust myself to sign up for 10.

They usually do on the day. There will be another one soon anyway

You could do a run-walk on the race. But listening to your body is the most sensible way to go 🙂 and it could tell you something very different on Sunday morning than what it’s saying today!

That's true, I'll see how I feel on Sunday morning 😊
