Nasal trauma

I shared a couple of weeks ago how breathing through my nose really helped modify my speed on longer runs and thereby last the distance. Well I have continued to do the same successfully for my last few runs including 2 more 10ks.

However I want to share my nasal experience of yesterday. I decided to try out a new Turkish barbers yesterday and the haircut went well. The barber was nice enough but as English wasn’t his first language and he spoke quietly, communication wasn’t brilliant.

I agreed to have wax - assuming it was the styling wax used by my son as a teenager in the 90s. In no time at all, I had 4 cotton buds and 2 giant blobs of hot wax up my nostrils - he was waxing my nasal hair!

You can tell when a bloke is enjoying his job - and he clearly was - after yanking it all out he had another go as obviously “nasal newbies” are harder work 😳.

I must admit it didn’t actually hurt, nor was it sore afterwards.

So my nose breathing on this morning’s 10k was encumbered and unfiltered and I have the internal nasal features of a newborn 😆.

I was glad I kept my underpants on 🤔

Especially if they have some hot wax left over - they start looking for the next project 😬. Those guys obviously hate body hair!

However- the haircut was the best I’ve had for a long time! 😁

A friend was asked if he wanted an arm massage. He misheard and firmly declined!

Back to the subject, it’s good to hear it’s helped your breathing.

Yes, they so do ! He’ll be rocketing out bugs right, left and centre 😁.

I thought in Turkey they still used the hot salamander Sizzle 🔥. Maybe it’s illegal over here

Dear Lord misswobble, I just tried to Google salamander sizzle.

First up, Urban Dictionary for sizzling salamander 😂😂😂😂😂🤯

That makes my search history interesting!

in reply to Jell6

I soooooo promise you that wasn’t on the barber’s menu 😂

ha ha ha The salamander is a hot rod, dug into hot coals and then used to make char marks on sugared-confections, or up your nose or in your ear 'ole for burning hair off Yikes Steady hands required

And I'm speechless 😂😂😂 (and I checked after your last nose related post, I definitely cannot run and nose breathe at the same time. Fact 😁)
