Not the most attractive title I know but have I got a sticky mouth while running because I’m not drinking enough? I do drink water before going out but not a lot, don’t want to be running for the loo etc.

You can take a citrus sweet or two I find that enough for a short run
Be well hydrated all the time, so drink plenty of water during the day and keep some by your bed. I often wake in the night feeling like a drink 🙂
You can buy a 150 ml soft drinking flask which is small and comes with a loop for your finger (see Decathlon)
Thanks, I do drink at night but probably not enough during the day, I’ll try & increase that.😎
Yes it’s good to have a big jug or bottle to drink from so you know how much you are taking. You need at least 2 litres the day before a run and then drinks lots after your run. I use electrolyte tablets too to replace those lost minerals. Zero is good and others have recommended tailwind.
Try breathing in through your nose. It will stop your mouth getting so dry.

For my longer runs i always have a half tab of extra chewing gum. I chew it a little before i set off and then stash it under my tongue, it prevents my mouth getting dry, and if i feel it going that way i have a little chew. Highly recommend it - its worked wonders
