Absolutely gutted! Been nursing an injury for the last few weeks - calf’s and ankle - and had to stop after 3k today as was limping. Went to see physio who told me I have bruised, soft bones and the only solution is a full six weeks off running. Gutted doesn’t feel enough to say how sad I am!
Signed off for six weeks: Absolutely gutted... - Bridge to 10K

It is gutting. When I had calf and Achilles trouble my physio gave me an exercise regime which built up strength around the affected area. I still do them now and am much stronger and more resilient than I was. I forgot to keep strength building and added distance in sync after C25k; thankfully it is fixed now 🤞🤞. Having a plan was the thing which helped me get through the enforced rest.

Sorry about that but unfortunately it’s all in the life of most runners.
I’ve had a bruised bone and had to take three months off for it to heal but that was three years ago and I managed to survive it and return and am still running amok!
Patience is key. Do other exercises and keep coming on here so you still think like a runner. Keep the faith and you’ll be out there before you know it.

Im so sorry! Do you have exercises that you can do? Can you do other things? I hope the time goes by quickly!

That’s a Bummer! But it will soon pass! Just try and do other forms of exercise in the meantime!
