It’s hot and humid, I’ve been ill and I’m tired, but I wanted to know if I can still do 10km. I can, but it wasn’t easy. I ran up new countryside roads to see where they went (up being the operative word, there are lots of hills round here, but view from the top is good) and came out part way along my usual long route. 10km exactly to the co-op where I wanted to stop and buy a 🍋 lemon. Also treated myself to a punnet of strawberries 🍓 😋 It took one minute more than my first ever 10km, but I’ll take that.
I have now passed the halfway point for the distance I want to cover in a year. 357km done out of a target of 700. Back on track 👍🏃♀️😎🏴☠️

Well done, especially in this heat. It was bad enough this morning when it wasn't particularly sunny.
I did 5k, as planned because I ran 8k on Monday.
If you are interested, Marple will have Pacers on Saturday. We won't be there, hopefully we will take time out from the music festival to visit Nant Y Pandy parkrun.
They always seem to have pacers when we are away. A shame because I enjoyed the only one I could make (under 35 minutes which was a good time for me - although I am not generally much quicker than that now )
Fab Baddie! Looks like you’re on the mend. And that’s pretty good going doing 1 minute over your first if you’re not feeling right. And well done on your 50% too!
I wonder how many of us go shopping at the end of a run? My run ended up at Tesco today, for a packet of bagels as I had no bread in for lunches 😊
Sorry to hear you have been under the weather. That is a long way to the shop for a lemon. Well done, the view looks worth the run up hill. It is very sticky at the moment so that long run deserves extra praise.
Oh my word, well done to you. That’s quite a 10k in this humid heat and recovering from being poorly. I know what you mean about knowing if you can still do a distance previously achieved. Take care and enjoy.
Great job. 10k is still in those legs and that’s what you set off to test, time is irrelevant in that respect... but as you had doubts that you could a minute outside the first one is very impressive. That 700 is going down. Happy running.
Well done you. I don't think I'd have completed my planned 10k today given the conditions. And it's brilliant you are still on track with your awesome target!
