A Good Week’s Running

A Good week! Managed 3runs which is unusual due to shift working but Monday ran my 2nd fastest 5K. Think my fastest is on a much easier route so may take that route again to try and beat! Then on Thursday I did a Bridge Run and managed 8K 5 miles in less then 57 mins! Then Today dorned with my new Park Run T-shirt I missed my Park Run PB by just 1 second! Gutted but very happy with my weeks effort! Incidentally Volunteered again this week helping to set the course up and doing the 1st Timer’s Briefing! This running business truly is addictive!

Hi Chris. Good on you for doing the volunteering. I have massive respect for that. Shame about the PB but it shows you are definitely ready to beat it.

Thanks! Done several runs faster than my PB Park Run. So yes I will beat it, but Harlow has a reputation for being a tough course and OFC Traffic problems at the start don’t help either. But I was happy with my runs this week!

Yes, Harlow ranks at #401 in terms of steepness. That’s a tough one.

Don’t know if it is included in the statistics but the big hill on the Harlow Park Run is negotiated twice! LOL!

Don't be too gutted by one second, you say that you are doing the first timers briefing this coming Saturday, well I am one of them, I am running my first parkrun this Saturday morning. I may buy a 5K Parkrun T shirt some time in the future.

You won’t regret it! Six months ago I could not have seen me doing Park Runs but I’ve got the very addictive bug! Go for it! Let us know how you get on!

I certainly will let you know how I get on at my first parkrun Chris.

Great stuff Chris! Parkrun is brilliant and very addictive, well done for volunteering. I REALLY need to volunteer soon. 😬

What a great week Chris! You’re smokin’ 💪👍🏃👏👊

Nice shirt! I wore mine yesterday for our VRB meet-up at Leamington. I felt proud giving a virtual shout out for my local PR, Eastville, even though we didn’t get an official one! Well done for volunteering too. So you ran and volunteered on the same day? True commitment! 👊

Sounds like you're doing great and ready to do some PBs soon. Does every parkrun get their own t-shirts ? I noticed yours had Harlow on it

Yes when u order you have the option to have your PR name added at no additional cost. It’s your choice!

You can order them BIT, and have them personalised. 😀

I might order one for my son, he'll be doing my parents local one with me. My youngest will do Junior parkrun. My daughter doesn't want to do 5k but she's too old for the 2k lol. I have hopes of talking her into it just out of competitiveness with her brothers : )

Sometimes curiosity takes over along with competitiveness! Bet she’ll be out there before too long. 😀

I remember that eldest son of TailChaser didn’t want to do parkrun so he started volunteering while everyone else ran. He is now running. It’s infectious I’m sure
