Staying Motivated : Hello all! I’m currently... - Bridge to 10K
Staying Motivated
Hi Connie. It’s an amazing achievement to have got this far. Where are you up to in terms of distance?
Which programme are you following ?
The couch to 10k extension!
Sorry, I wasn't sure as I am on the magic 10k plan which is 8 weeks long. I wasn't sure as you wrote week 9.
Whatever programme you're following you are doing great !!
I’m not sure the name, it’s the bridge to 10k. It has 12 weeks, then you’ll run a 10 k. Sometimes it seems as if I haven’t gotten far enough. I guess I have, I started the 5 k in January 2019. I’m still at it, that’s why I don’t want to stop.
Are you following Magic 10 ?
No, I didn’t do the magic 10, I stayed with the couch to 10 k. I already finished the 5k
Hey oldfloss! What happened to my graduation badge. I received it in March
I’m using the 10k on my running tips.com
Did you Graduate 5K on the C25K programme?
Tell me a bit more about yourself - what made you start running in the first place?
I started running to try and lose weight. I wanted to get active because I didn’t do say type of exercise. I’m currently doing weights as well. All of my runs have been on a treadmill, I’m nervous to run outside. Maybe that’s why I’m getting a little bored.
I think you may have hit the nail on the head there. I used to love my treadmill but then I went outside one day and my treadmill is gathering dust nei. Is your plan a short run followed by medium run then longer run in the week? If so maybe try outside for your shorter run...see how you like it and stop you getting bored. There are lovely sights and vitamin E and fresh air to boot. I just earned my 10k badge but its only 2 weeks ago I was where you are now...so keep going, 2 weeks is nothing and the badge is so worth the effort.
Yes, I agree with Franglaise that you should go outside. There is no comparison. The fresh air, nature etc helps the time go by more quickly. Running outside might just change your mindset. Just a reminder, it might take a couple of runs to adjust. Go slowly! Good luck with reaching 10k. You’re almost there. 🏃♀️😀
Thank you for all the encouragement.
