... was a pleasure today, as I got out before the sun got too hot. In the dark days of January I never thought I would welcome a headwind, but these days are a different story!
Having promised the July Quest to take strength & flex more seriously, I realised this little bridge that I regularly trot across has ideal hand holds to steady me as I try out some of those deep bendy balancing tortures/exercises .... 🤔😊 And it’s far-ish along the track, so away from likely observers; always a plus for me. 🤣
Also good: I seem to have moved on a bit and the new normal for the “this has gone on long enough so where’s the end?” feeling is now about 45 or 50 minutes. That lets me do a longer circuit with a bit of quiet road, and that seems to have led to the infamous negative splits. Aha! Progress. Though I strongly suspect it’s to do with the faster surface compared to my usual track and trail, not any real effort increase on my part. 😄 Still, stats are stats and good fun to have.
Happy running all.

No, the horses have been replaced by a large herd of soft grey cows with calves, and they can’t see the bridge anyway. Haven’t discovered if the cows are interested in runners; they defo don’t do planks. 🤣🤣
In my Parkrun experience of running with cows, they are mildly interested in runners in a superior condescending way: "what are you doing running in this heat, when you could be sitting eating grass?" and more recently they seem to have been more interested in the bags left at the start by the runners (will have to find a way to share the photo)
