Warm-up done, correct sports type watch on, off I went with a plan to run 2k out, walk for a minute, then see how far I could make it back. The first good thing was that at 1k I didn't need to stop and walk, but was able to keep going until I reached 2k. I slowed to a walk then turned around and began the run back. The next good thing was that my lungs suddenly remembered what they were supposed to be doing. For a brief, shining moment, my breathing felt easy and natural. Of course, as soon as I noticed it, it all went to pot again, but at least I know I haven't lost it altogether! And the next good thing is that I kept going until I reached 4k. Following Beachcomber's advice of course!π I won't bother to mention the odd rustling, clicks and whirring noises from the hedgerow as I passed, but several times I thought, What WAS that?! Let's face it, it's usually a wood pigeon π Happy running, folks!
