Which London parkrun?

So I’m thinking of doing my third parkrun this Saturday. I have an idea to start as a tourist to keep it fresh and discover new places to run and just chill.

Does anyone have any favourites I might think about trying? West London for preference, so I don’t need to get out of bed quite so early. I’ve done Bedfont Lakes and Bushy Park so far.

If you feel like heading south you could try Greenwich and scout it out for me : ) I should be that way in August and that's the closest to my parents but I might try another one, haven't decided yet lol.

I will follow your post and see what others say.

You should download the google chrome extension for parkrun. There are loads of cool tourism challenges there for parkrun. Stopwatch bingo, the alphabet challenge and one you could try is NENDY. NENDY stands for Next Event Not Done Yet. So it will automatically select the closest parkrun to your registered home parkrun. And each time you complete your NENDY it will automatically select a new NENDY going further and further out from your home parkrun.

Cheers,

Damien

Nice! I would never have thought of looking for a Chrome extension, of all things. Thanks.

NENDY is so easy with a google of “parkrun tourist tool” too... I have it saved on my home screen, one tap and I got my nearest 10 NDYs

I have completed quite a few west London parkruns as a tourist, including Bushy and Bedfont Lakes. Richmond Park is lovely but a bit hilly; large but not as busy as Bushy. Old Deer Park (also in Richmond) is small and friendly, but a fairly boring 3 lap chug around a playing field. Crane Park is nicer than you might think as it’s a very narrow park alongside water, again quite small. Kingston runs mostly on the Thames path and is another large one.

A bit further afield I have also done Gunnersbury, Osterley, Finsbury and Clapham Common. Osterley would be my pick of those, mixed terrain on a national trust site with good ice cream. The urban parks in Southwark and Burgess are both flat and easy with a younger, faster clientele.

Osterley is probably my next choice. Looks lovely to hang around afterwards... plus you completely had me on the ice cream.

Thanks for all the great info.
