Hard work today.

Today should be a long run day. I officially started my HM training plan a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately having had long staying guests it has all gone out the window a bit and my total mileage for June is about half of what I ran in May. I have therefore designated June a recovery month. (Despite the excess of vino tinto).

Due to the local fiesta got to bed at 2am. Woke at 8am and Madam Loris enquired if I was running and did I want a coffee. Not blooming likely and yes please. At 10am I decided to stop being a wimp and go for it. Especially as it's the last one before heading for Blighty manana. By which time it's hot and getting hotter.

I started slow and ended even slower and got back quite nauseous but happy. Too many factors to pin it down. Lack of sleep. Too much alcohol. Dehydration. High temperature. Fancy underwear (new running briefs not lingerie), the waist is a bit higher and twice now I've felt a bit dodgy. More research required.

In any case 9 mile run in the heat, and when feeling rough, achieved by the simple tactic of slowing down a bit.

If in doubt run like a Loris.

Wow! Kudos to you for running 9miles in the heat, with little sleep and too much celebration the night before🙌🙌🙌

You did really well considering your dodgy underwear 😩

Just think what you can do after your research 🙂
