My Nike Run Club App doesn't measure distance accurately!

Hi, I completed C25K a couple of months back, & have done consolidation runs & parkruns since. Having read comments on helpful apps I downloaded NRC - which I like but soon discovered doesn't measure the distance I'm running accurately. I first realised this on a parkrun when the time splits it was giving me were very flattering but had very little in common with the actual speed I was running...and it regularly says I run over 6k when I do a parkrun - so I know its wrong. Is there something I'm doing to make it inaccurate or is it just a useless app? Any advice - including switching to a better alternative - gratefully received!!

Get a garmin watch. I’ve got the 35. It’s fab and not expensive. They’re the most accurate. Sync it to Strava.
