Did Race for Life last Sunday and seemed to have triggered a niggling problem. It starts in my hamstring and is sore and tight when it go up and downstairs and hills.
I’ve been stretching foam rolling and doing loads of exercises my physio gave me, and also Pilates and yoga.
My physio suggested trying a gentle jog walk tomorrow as I’m away next week and won’t be running - anyone had experience of niggles that keep coming back?
Only started running last September and I think I need to work on my strength, but I’m desperate to get out there (even in the rain!!)

If it IS your hamstring, generally you are advised to rest it first, then begin gentle stretches and build from there. However, if you have seen a physio Im sure she would have said similar if there was a need.
If you are new to yoga and/or Pilates, it is very easy to overstretch. Make sure you stay within your limits and build slowly.
Yes I've been doing stretches and exercises from the physio, and have reigned in my pilates as I'm hyper mobile and have to watch I don't overstretch!! I think the hyper mobility has a lot to answer for with this particular niggle.
Listen to your physio. That’s what we pay them for. If she/he suggested a gentle jog/walk then that’s what you do.
Patience is one of the most valuable lessons we can learn as runners. It’s hard but worth it in the end because what’s a few days or even weeks in the big scheme of things if we want to keep running into eternity 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
