DOMS? (Delayed onset muscular soreness)

Hi guys. Have gone back to the beginning because of a back injury in January that stopped me in my tracks, but am much improved now and hoping to upgrade my strength and stamina again and run a 10k (or jeff it) in late August. Training was going great and I am on week 3 of the c25k but may have overdone a swimming session on Monday evening, and am now suffering what someone told me was DOMS. Just wondering if any of you guys have any advice or experience with this. Not too sure about this because I am older and these pains could just be the beginning of arthritis, lol!!

DOMS typically kick in up to 24 hours after activity and last another 24 hours or so. You can work through them, unlike an injury, the muscle will feel easier if you use it.

Thanks, Coddfish . As you say, the pains have eased somewhat, so I’m all fired up now for the Parkrun tomorrow. Happy running!
