Back pain when running..

Hi all, just wondered if anyone has ever experienced lower back pain when running because today for some reason I was suffering a bit with this and it has never happened before...any thoughts, as always, greatly appreciated! 😉 (I ran about a 5K distance)

It could be tight hamstrings, glutes or hip flexors. Do you stretch afterwards? Or use a foam roller? Pilates/yoga are good for strengthening and lengthening your lower back so if you don't do either then you should consider it.

Check out some YouTube videos for some suitable stretches but this one is particularly good for the lower back:

Thank you!! I will defo look into that as I do stretch after but don’t do yoga or Pilates and thanks for you for the YouTube link too! 👏👍😉

If you can't do the floor version yet then do it over a low bench or table.

I agree with IrishPrincess and often do Yoga with Adrienne on You Tube - she has a video with this stretch and you know if you’ve done it right in the morning 🤣

Yoga/Pilates and strength exercises have definitely helped me through my running and no lower back pain anymore
