Morning! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Iโ€™d planned on doing a gentle 5k today, having volunteered at PR yesterday and done JogRunSprint on Thursday. I have a 10k planned for Tuesday - then countdown to my 10 mile attempt on the 11th. All good? Youโ€™d think so wouldnโ€™t you.

We went out for a delightful Japanese meal last night and we were in the restaurant for about 3 hours. I ate delicious food and had 2 halves of refreshing beer over the whole evening as I was driving. And the point is? I hear you say .... ๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿ’ค

Got up from the table and inner part of my left knee felt tight. We walked back to the car and it was mildly uncomfortable. It was fine walking to the restaurant.

This morning I can still feel the niggle, only just, but itโ€™s there. I wanted to run today, but Iโ€™m now wondering if I should. I would cry if I jeopardised my runniversary run. โ˜น๏ธ

Am I the only person to pick up a Japanese meal induced injury? Was it the way I was sitting? I was in flat sandals, and definitely hadnโ€™t tripped or anything. Gentle dog walk for me today I think. Hmph.

Again, no real point to this post, and yet again Iโ€™ve gone on a bit, but Iโ€™m miffed and wanted to tell someone. My family glaze over in advance of me talking nowadays - they already know the subject! ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Happy Sunday everyone. โค๏ธ

My first thought was surely you havenโ€™t been running already? Itโ€™s 06:58! Weโ€™re off to Twickenham, would never be up otherwise.

Just take it easy today cheekychipmunks and see how this settles. Like you say it could be just from sitting strangely. I am sure it will settle soon . Says she who knows nothing but wishing to show sympathy with unglazed eyes .

Aww thanks for not glazing over Dexy! Means a lot! ๐Ÿ˜…

Iโ€™ll potter out with the dog in a while and see how it feels. I was thinking of wearing trail shoes just in case (๐Ÿ˜ˆ), but I wonโ€™t. Iโ€™ll be good. ๐Ÿ˜‡

Oh no, take it steady, bit of gentle stretching. Youโ€™ve still got 9 days to your Runniversary so Iโ€™m sure you will be fine xx

Thanks Sandie, Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s nothing, but why risk it? Rest itโ€™ll be. ๐Ÿ˜‡

Rest it today and try not to worry. Itโ€™s already better than it was last night so Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s on the mend. Good luck for your Runniversary Run ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to jayval70

Youโ€™re right jayval, the fact that itโ€™s already feeling better is a plus. Probably a trapped nerve or something silly, but Iโ€™ll definitely rest up today. The 10 miler is too important to me to jeopardise it. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Where you seated at regular table, or on one of the floor table things?

Either way, I think a few days off to be on the safe side, some gentle walks and stretching you should be good for your 10 miler.

Not sure I'd do the 10 k on Tuesday though ๐Ÿ˜ถ

Take it easy today ๐Ÿค—

cheekychipmunks profile image
cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to Jell6

Thanks Jell, wise words as ever. Youโ€™re right, even if my knee feels better, I think Iโ€™ll forego the 10k run this week, and stick to short gentle ones. The 10 miler is too important to me, and I dearly want to run it on the runniversary itself, which is June 11th. ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thanks Wimborne! No, Iโ€™ll be in lying on the sofa, legs outstretched, the evening before the 10 miler! Iโ€™m not risking anything!

Walks, stretches, yoga and a tiny trot later in the week (if all feels ok) is on my agenda this week. ๐Ÿ˜€

Iโ€™ve decided to take it easy this week Baddie. I didnโ€™t need to do a 10k this week, I just felt like it (what?!? ๐Ÿ˜ณ), but Iโ€™ll ditch that idea now, and try a gentle short run mid-week, then hopefully to PR next Saturday. Thatโ€™ll be it before the big day on the 11th! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ˜€

You can always have a virtual chat with your VRBs!

It is weird how resting can sometimes be more injurious. Stretching can make muscles more tight, sometimes.

Maybe some extra dog walking is all you need?

Sorry to hear this Cheeky, bodies are strangely unpredictable aren't they? Sounds like you're doing everything right and hopefully you'll be running again next week.๐Ÿ‘

I'm properly on the I.C for a while, with a v painful leg and diagnosed tendon injury. I've rested and iced it as much as possible this week, fortunately I'm on a Greek island most of the next two weeks and won't miss running too much..

Hoping to celebrate my runniversary when I get back. ๐Ÿ˜Š

cheekychipmunks profile image
cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to Crawlhome

A Greek island sounds like a lovely place to be on the IC, CH! I hope the break will do you good and you can resume gentle running on your return? Do you have any runniversary plans?

I can already feel mineโ€™s better even after 1 day off. Iโ€™ll try a gentle trot out on Wednesday and see how it feels then. ๐Ÿคž

Crawlhome profile image
CrawlhomeGraduate10 in reply to cheekychipmunks

Oh that's good news, enjoy the gentle run on Weds and fingers crossed for the leg.

My runniversary plan is being able to walk pain free ๐Ÿ™„, I'm such an idiot, even had to take time off work due to being in agony. Going to book a physio apt for when I get back as I've consistently had problems with that leg for months. It's a shame as I had planned to do some short holiday runs. ๐Ÿ˜ข

cheekychipmunks profile image
cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to Crawlhome

Itโ€™s so hard to know when to stop isnโ€™t it? Iโ€™m certain, if I wasnโ€™t so focussed on the 10 miler, Iโ€™d have run this morning, and quite possibly ended up properly on the IC. Pre-running days I wouldnโ€™t have given these twinges a 2nd thought!

Hereโ€™s hoping you recover fully and quickly. Enjoy your holiday! โ˜€๏ธ ๐Ÿ–
