Hi need a good half marathon plan can anyone recommend one need a 12 week plan as I am doing the Manchester half marathon in October so need some really good advice please

Hi Paul, I just completed a half marathon last Sunday. My training consisted of increasing my mileage from my usual 6mile run and upping it every week until I reached 11miles then in the last few weeks or so before the race I tapered it down to gentle 3/4milers, it worked for me as I completed the hm in 2hrs 20 mins. My strict training regime brought me through, can’t wait fir my next one now. Good luck.

Take a look at the one many of have used..it is fabulous. It was complied by our own wonderful roseabi ... and can be tweaked to fit your own running time.
It got me through my HM happily and safely and having had terrific fun!

So many helpful stuff there abut training and workouts ..It got so, so many of us through our first half Marathons...and I for one am so, so grateful to roesabi for the time she spent on this... and all the follow up posts that took us through the 12 weeks.

It's a 16 week plan, but you have plenty of time to fit that in.
I am going to be running another half marathon group aimed at an October race, starting June-ish, where I hope to include information about a variety of training plans available online or on apps.
I used the bupa beginner training programme. It's ever where online and really works! I'm also doing a half in October and am using it again as I haven't done long distance in a while. Hope this helps
