Two goals!

A month after graduating C25K, I achieved my goal of running a sub 30 minute 5K at this weekends parkrun. Scraped in - but still achieved! It was tough, but a great feeling to get there.

Then today, I set out to run a 5 maybe 6K run, mainly to get rid of Saturday's Eurovision party overdose. But somehow, I made it to 7K and still felt good, so kept going to 8k, at which point I thought, "let's do this" and dragged myself to 10K! It wasn't planned. I'd intended a gradual build up over 6 weeks, adding 10% each week to get there. I have no idea what came over me, but I couldn't stop smiling at the end.

I promise to take it easy now, and maybe will hold off a run for a few days.

That’s impressive . Well done..huge congrats . I was delighted with a five minute I noticed to 33.50 but still almost dying, just don’t get injured ! I have started getting a sore knee think been trying to get near 30 too hard.

Well done Rusty! Give those legs a little rest and a recovery run! Now for some of those 10k races huh.... 🙃🥇😎😎

Well done: Yes at least two days recovery is sensible now when you’re not used to that distance.

Yes, I'm definitely taking it easy and won't run again until later in the week and I won't be trying another 10k for a week or so.

That’s wise. You seem to know how to listen to your body and be sensible about it but overtraining is still the biggest injury risk especially early on.

Well done rustywheels! That first 10k really feels special - but to also get a sub 30 parkrun is very impressive ! 🎉
