Well other than keeping running I don’t really have any, but I haven’t posted in a while (though I do check in to see what everyone’s up to and still learn loads from the great stuff people post) so I thought I’d pop up and say hello.

I’ve been running a year now (started Jan 2018). There are lots of things I’ve done so far:

* running regularly (injury permitting) - which is all that really matters

* run distances up to 21k

* run for more than 2 hours - quite a jump from a few mins at start of C25K

* run with other people a few times - nice to run and chat, will try to do this more

* run lots of different routes - loads to explore still

Plus I’ve bought lots of gear - most of which I use regularly 😀

There’s still stuff I haven’t done that I might do this year:

* park run

* enter a race

* structured training (intervals, hill sprints etc.)

* strength training - I know I really should

But I might not and that’s fine too. We’re all different and I’ve learnt to do what works for me.

I’m a lot fitter, I deal with stress better (though I now get grumpy if my running plans are thwarted) and I’ve made new friends through running.

It’s been a great thing and hopefully there’s more to come. Hope everyone is enjoying their running journey.

Thanks. Amazing what you can do in a year. But I mean it that running regularly is the important one - the rest is just finding ways to stay interested and motivated and that’s different for all of us 😀

Happy Runanniversary to you! 🏃🏻🏃🏻🏃🏻 Well done on year 1 and all the very best for year 2 and onwards. It really is a very personal journey and fun to see how it develops. Congratulations! 😊 21k Wow!

PS I do hope you try a Parkrun, it is good to vary our experiences. I loved my first one. I have only taken part in two and I had stupidly not left sufficient time for my breakfast to digest before I ran my second one and suffered as a consequence. My current plan is about 4 a year, aiming for a PB each time. Happy running to you! 😊

Thanks. Will try a park run at some point. Not against the idea but it clashes with ferrying the kids about on sat mornings 😀

Wow! From zero to 21k in a year. That’s really fantastic! Well done you. With determination and sticking power like that you probably don’t need resolutions.

Thanks. I have to say distance largely driven by desire to explore and try new routes on my long runs. I usually run from home so if I want somewhere new I have to go a bit further 😀

Running new routes stops me from ‘saving up’ energy for a hill. I guess it’s all just a mind thing.

Sometimes I run from home and sometimes I park my car at the gym in the city and go Runxploring. It’s nice to run if we are travelling, getting lost just adds to the fun.
