Went out this morning to try and find a route from home into the forest rather than driving there. I new it would be a fairly long run and all was going well until I actually got into the forest when I found myself completely confounded by streams and bogs.
I learned many things. My log balancing is pants. My new iphone really is waterproof.
I can run for two and a half hours without water, sweets, gels or Big macs. (Easily as it happens.)
You can keep your Maffetone quackery. Run like a Loris.

No, no - but would emerge glamorously damp with his shirt sticking elegantly to his abs, whereas the rest of us.... are lucky our iPhones are waterproof and no one has a camera! Actually, it sounds like a good run. Well done. 👍
Don't mean to be a kill-joy but do tell someone where you are going if you go off trail. Or use Strava beacon or some other tracker. (Twisted ankles, busted heads and smashed phones etc.). I do a lot of bush whacking in Finland and even 500-600m off a forest path is pretty much the middle of nowhere with a busted ankle or worse with no working phone.
