Numb tingly feeling in thigh. Should I run?

Hi guys, I'm looking for advice. For the last three weeks I've had this weird sensation radiating from my left hip that leaves my skin sensitive to the touch and feeling a bit numb. It's not painful just a bit uncomfortable.

I last ran 2 weeks ago, it was just 5k but it did aggravate it. I've been hoping it will sort itself out but it's not improving. Has anyone else had anything similar, any advice gratefully received.

Could be a trapped nerve.. maybe get it checked out?

Best to get a professional to check it out.

If you're still experiencing it after two weeks Sparkest please do get an appointment with your GP 🙂 🏃‍♀️ can wait!

Maybe book now in case it’s still a problem in 2 weeks.

Yeah I meant the fact she's already had it for 2 weeks, not to wait ANOTHER 2 weeks to book it in - sorry my bad 😅

Could be a condition called meralgia paraesthetica - entrapment of the lateral cutaneous nerve of thigh. Are you wearing tight lycra? The nerve is purely sensory - you won't get muscle weakness or anything. Would usually respond to rest, stopping wearing tight clothing, weight loss (don't know if that's relevant!). If it doesn't respond then probably GP referral for some more fancy investigations and treatment.

Thanks, I'll look it up. Wear normal running leggings and not overweight so guess I'll just have to be patient 🙄
