So l am planning to do intervals around the football pitch. Should l sprint the short or long edge?? Thanks π
Intervals???: So l am planning to do intervals... - Bridge to 10K
Intervals???
I'd sprint the short edge, allowing a longer recovery with the long edge. Once that is easy, you could consider switching it (or just running each part faster)
Mix it up... walk width, run to centre line, walk to corner, run width, walk to centre line...
I can't maintain what I consider to be a sprint for more than about 70 metres, so definitely short - and probably only one of them at that. Sprint across behind the goal, walk/stagger to the halfway line, jog to the next corner flag and across behind the other goal, comfortable running pace down the second long side and repeat till the bar's open .
I wouldn't expect to manage more than 2 sets of 5 laps like that, jogging a full lap to warm up and between the sets. Probably around 3 laps to a km, so that would be around 4k total. Mo would probably do a bit more
Good luck!
I agree with SaskAlliecat
Fartlek or βspeed playβ suggests you mix it up and do what feels OK at the time. intervals are more regimented - I like both depending on where you are at and where you are heading happy running
Interesting. You make me want to find a football field π
