Taping my time

Hi guys !! Well, took an extra day off and ran our usual Sunday 10K, today, to give my calf a longer rest .Have left it totally alone,no massage, stretches or calf raises, nothing, zilch !!

I applied kinesiology tape , length and breadth of my calf yesterday and obviously left it in place for today,s run - kept the pace right down at 1hr 35 min 56 secs ,enjoyed our run whilst concentrating on that brief ' heel kiss' to finish each stride ,and ......no calf pain !!! Im taking a leaf out of my wife,s book, slow and steady ,at least until after our 10K in B,ham on 26th !! Its the, 'long game', I know, but its so hard when you want to progress to the next level !! Have started practicing the 'stork stance' to improve my balance and will now incorporate single leg squats - this calf issue will not go on indefinitely , thats for sure !! Happy and pain free ,the ego gets put on hold and looking forward to the 'Charity run' experience on what will be an emotional day for sure !!

So great you managed 10k pain free F4L! You’ll be all ready for the 26th. Not long now! 😀😀

Thank you guys !! Its funny how that when we actually 'embrace', this running game, and all its facets,we Invest so much emotionally too. Disappointments, 'hurt', and we can ,if not careful , carry them round with us as excess baggage, but conversely those small victories, boy dont we buzz when we land one !!!!
