Planned a steady 5k but I was really wheezy today: don’t know why, it’s not usual for me. I stopped and walked for short spells and it settled. However, my poor old bladder!! That’s the trouble with driving to a running venue: despite visiting the bathroom right before leaving, I needed to go again pretty soon after starting! Hung on, helped by the wheeze-reducing walks, thank goodness! Nowhere suitable! Very beautiful along the canal today, though: verdant with the recent rain. A tough run in many ways so I kept repeating to myself ‘every step will help make the next run easier’. Managed all the 5k: glad it’s done!
Wheeze and wees...: Planned a steady 5k but I... - Bridge to 10K
Wheeze and wees...
Congratulations on your 5K along the canal bank molly1973, glad you enjoyed your run today. 😊
Oooh, errr and even Aaaargh! Some runs are just good when they’re over, and it sounds like one of those. Glad the scenery made up for it!
Oh no Molly! Sounds like you were able to hang on and complete your run regardless. I always drive to my running routes and have sometimes have a similar problem! 🙃
Lovely pics of your canal run. Even though I go to the loo before walking to Parkrun, I still pop into the park loos on the east down. I am sure it’s the figure-hugging Lycra that does it. Hope there’s plenty of loos on Sunday- no wild wees on this one. 🤭
One person posted on here that when running she had needed to go for a “wild wee” - doesn’t sound so bad put like that! 😉
I still don’t fancy it!! 😂
Oh you poor thing, that must have kept you focused! Well done on completing it. The oilseed rape is in flower down my way, and that plays havoc with allergies.
Wheezing and needing to wee 😩. Tough run but hopefully the pretty scenery was a nice distraction!
Well done Molly. Wees can be a problem. Lovely canal run. Makes me feel right at home 😀
Oooh that does look inviting. I had a similar experience except is wasn't a wee I needed! My runner friend at work advised me to always plan your routes near supermarkets so you can drop in and spend a penny if needed! Lol
Mmmm.. .. sounds a a tuff one!! 😀😂
Well good on you for keeping going Molly. Sounds a tough run.
Looks lovely place to run.
I get wheezy sometimes as I have asthma. I’m lucky as not very affected by it but at spring time, with the tree pollen, it does
affect me and then later when harvesting. So I usually have 1 puff on my blue inhaler 10 mins before running and I’m usually ok.
Well done, Molly. 😊 I drink a lot of water and have to be really careful on my long runs. I’ll never forget achieving my first 10k. I had to stop halfway for an alfresco wee! Luckily it was 6:30am on a Sunday morning in the woods, nobody around. Does a Sadie-runs wee in the woods? Yes, when she needs to. 😂
Well done on a lovely 5k run! x
