I’ve been dithering around with the idea of going for gait analysis for quite some time, but after a trip to the podiatrist with my really not nice feet and to the chiropractor about the niggle in my inner right knee and left glute, I was told in no uncertain terms that it really would be a good idea. So off I went today to the Lincolnshire Runner. I have definite pronation, more pronounced in my right than left foot, hence the right knee twinge. Tried on about 7 pairs of shoes and with the £15 gait fee knocked off and a further 10% discount, I reckon my new Hokas are going to be worth it. Lovely chap in the LR - ended up comparing parkrun experiences and he gave me some recommendations for further tourism. First, though, vineyards here we come to try them out. I like a story with a happy ending! I overpronate because my feet are fastened on to my legs incorrectly. Trust me to have Friday afternoon feet! Great for breaststroke swimming, but otherwise a confounded nuisance. Stability shoes sorted me out last June. Good investment...may they take you on many happy runs and, crucially, bring you back without niggles!😊

Off to our house in the Dordogne, which is a converted wine store! But also taking the van and are going to motor round to Santiago de Compostela. Back at the end of June, in time for Stratford parkrun in July!

Yes I know and I’m sure we will walk into the town. We will have the aged mutt with us though (13 year old cocker spaniel), who is the perfect excuse not to exert ourselves too much 🐶 Really looking forward to it though, as we haven’t been to northern Spain before.

Hey Sandie, so glad you you got on well at LR, shopping online is OK for some things but you can't try 7 pairs & get that level of analysis & advice unless you go to a place like LR! My final 2 pairs came down to hokas or brooks when I was there, could have so easily purchased both but I resisted the naughty credit card angel in my ear!

Remember that 5k equates to 3 larger glasses after conversion into euros, and an additional glass due to brexit! 🥂

They were really good - amazing how different shoes can feel when you’re running in them. Still hate treadmills even if only for analysis purposes! I like your calculation Wiggy 😂

After a gait analysis in Truro while on holiday I too bought a pair of Hokas, I love mine and they have made a big difference. Happy days 😁

Ooh I got new shoes after gait analysis - and my first treadmill experience - today. A big shout out to Runners Retreat in Marlow for their help. While I was there a lady got some Hokas too. Mine are Miyuno though and like you i tried on several pairs before i got to them. When i work out how to add a photo, I'll try to do that. Hope they work out great.
