Still slower than a burnt out snail π but managed to knock two minutes off my time which Iβm happy about! Itβs rained the whole way but it was so refreshing and comfortable to run in ππΌββοΈπ¦
Yesterdayβs 3rd Ever 10Kπππ: Still slower... - Bridge to 10K
Yesterdayβs 3rd Ever 10Kπππ
Well done AllyS on running your third ever 10K yesterday in the rain, β (not with a umbrella ) not heard from you for a while, but it's nice that you like me are still running. π π
Thanks Al ππ» Iβve been quietly working away on completing my three 5Kβs per week and trying so hard to improve my time but itβs been such a slow process! Intended doing a 5K yesterday but felt so comfortable that I just kept on going! Glad to hear youβre still pounding the pavements too π
I am pounding the pavements by rerunning some of the runs of C25K as part of my "runiversary runs" it was on 18th April 2018 that I began C25K and graduated 2 months later. I ran several 5Ks in the late summer and early autumn of last year, my PB is 32.25, but once the winter started I reverted back to long walks rather than running, the long walks I have been doing during the winter for about 40 years, so come spring it's back to running.
Enjoy getting back into it again Al. Thatβs a fab PB 5K time and one which I aspire to π. Iβm still at 37.05 but will keep plugging away as Iβd really like to do the local Park Run but I dare not until I get my time down for fear of embarrassing myself by being a slow coach ππ
Well done Ally! It feels good running 10k doesnβt it? Iβm not surprised youβre happy with your run today! Brilliant. πππ
Slightly faster than my pace ππ
Good run AllyS. Long runs with gradual improvement definitely the way to go. I award you an extra day offππ₯π₯π₯
Well done, you - three in the bag and your time coming down too! All sounds good to me!π
Well done Ally. I also did my 3rd 10K last night. I really enjoyed it. But going to go back to 5K and 7K for a bit. Isnβt great to know we can do it if we want to.
Damien
Thanks Damien! Yes it sure is fab to know that we can knock out a 10K when we put our mind to it π. Iβm going to focus on reducing my 5K times for the next few weeks. Iβm really looking at getting at least 3-5 mins off my time π€π»Happy running πββοΈ
I did interval training and managed to get my 5K Parkrun time down from 34 minutes to 26:30 . Intervals condition you and get you used to running faster for longer. I did 1K intervals. It works.
Damien
Gosh you say you are slow but sounds pretty speedy to me! I did my first park run a couple of weeks ago in 46 minutes. Never thought I'd be able to run that far so I was super pleased. Even though I was so slow there were people behind me. I wouldn't wait to go faster. Just go for it! And 10k! I am in awe. Working my way up there, very slowly..
Congratulations! I 'm working up to my third 10k after a gentle start to Spring ( 8k this week I hope on JuJu's plan) It's great to hear your joy!
I'm a bit alarmed though to read that you feel the need to have a certain speed for PRun.I thought the whole point was that they are for everyone of all abilities not competitive speed runs?I've yet to do one mind you!
Yay!!!!! π₯³π₯³ππππππΌββοΈππΌββοΈ. Even more Than brilliant given it was raining too. I am such a wuss. Hate the rain. You win my Brave Run of the Day award π
ππ½ππ½ππ½! Amazing AllyS! You should be very proud. Brilliant! Fellow snail celebrating your success!! πβ€οΈ
Thatβs brilliant!! Well done. Lovely to see a fellow π. Iβm on JuJuβs plan and did 8k in one hour five last week so suspect weβre around the same speed. Slow and steady!!
