Just completed parkrun this morning 28.30 😜 as part of ju-ju week 3 Run 2! First run for 8 days since i felt a slight tightening of my left hammy on my last run! Anyway started off fine this morning until around half way when I felt the same again except worse! I managed to keep going albeit at a slower pace and finished but it’s sore and stiff now! Have stuck some deep heat on which has helped a bit, any other suggestions??

I think you might need to listen to your body Cfc55. It sounds like you might be starting off to fast in the enthusiasm of parkrun. You say you are on W3 of juju’s plan, but you only graduated 4 weeks ago from C25K.

I suggest you give it a bit of a rest and then consolidate at 30 minutes for a few weeks. On graduation you should consolidate for 3 weeks before moving on . Then you can extend distance or speed but not both at the same time.

We all feel invincible when we graduate but we are only just at the start of a wonderful journey.

Happy running. Take it slowly and you will get there.

Tremendous time - well done!

As you know, I'm no seasoned runner... but I've suffered from the odd ache and pain since starting but much less so since I did a period of consolidation after graduation. I've done 6 weeks now, 4 of those with absolutely no addition to distance of time. As others have said, perhaps it's time to take it easy and enjoy your new-found ability for a while. :)
