In the words of The Fast Show, “this week I have mostly been trying hills”.

I loathe hills. At 6’5” and 102 kg, they drain me of energy but they have to be done because they’re there.

There’s a 7km very hilly route around my village which I thought safe to do early in the morning. Today I had only meant to run part of it for 40 minutes but when it came to turn back I thought Why Not?

So, 7km achieved for the first time on some very steep gradients in 1hr5mins. I am as chuffed as a squirrel’s nuts but will be recovering until Parkrun.

Well done. I hate hills too. But my local Parkrun has a 3 lap course with a long gradual steep hill which saps energy. Doing it once is hard, but we have to summit it 3 times. Hill training is great endurance and speed training. 7K is also great for Parkrun Training.

Well done on your hilly 7k! If you do enough of them, they do get easier 😀
