Saturday should be fantastic. Dexy5 and I did this recce yesterday, in the course of 12k for me and 8k for her, we covered the whole route and quite a lot more besides - the piccy (which has been rotated, so North is to the left) shows the Garmin track of my demented wanderings. The café is at the Hawthorns centre, very close to the red marker. Parking is either on Cemetery Road, next to the furthest right track and accessed from The Avenue in the top right corner, or Hill Lane along the bottom.
As for the course, assuming we've worked it out correctly, the Parkrun start and finish are in the open area midway between the green and red markers, giving probably 400m of wide open space before 1000+ runners have to funnel onto a conventional path through the trees. The first half is flat(tish), the second up then down, with the highest point on the course around the bottom left corner, followed by a downhill k and 750m flat to the finish.
Really looking forward to this, and meeting up with our fellow travellers. And if there are other Southampton parkrunners reading this who want to meet up, I'll be the idiot in the red and white hat (as per profile pic) at the café around 0830
