Think I’m getting worse rather than better

Trying to get back on track since bad bout of flu in feb this year taking about 5 weeks to get over it. No running during this time but still waking dog. Last couple of weeks being doing 5k on dreadmill then outside getting back up to 8.5k before hols. Thought I would be better on hols running in Gran Canaria as no work to contend with but still slow and not doing much more than 5k each run what is wrong with me 😳 ahhhhh. I blame the hills myself lol but the view from the next playa is great

wow great views!

why are you beating yourself up? You are on holiday and you are doing 5k runs! that's pretty impressive in my book. Enjoy your slow runs and the holiday, the longer runs will be ready for you when you get back - plus the weather is improving so no more dreadmill :-)

Enjoy 🕶🚤😎

Thank you Alisonx the views are so nice makes the run to amadores worth it and it’s flat around the Bay Area for running once you get there. Think I need to drink more water as well 😎

Thank you for your kind words

There’s nothing wrong with you! You’re doing loads. Your expectations are high having just got over illness. A virus takes it out of you and you just need to listen to your body . Enjoy the holiday it looks lovely there 👌🌟

Thank you Catmo13 it’s probably because I don’t get ill very often I’m disappointed with myself how long it’s all taking to get to where I was. You are absolutely right about listening to body. Had short run today and then went for walk around instead and that was really nice. About 15k so far today so that’s ok 👍😎

Fingers crossed you continue to recover well. Another 2 or 3 weeks at this rate and you'll be back to where you were. 😁
