Well, I wrote this once and then lost it somewhere, so hope we don’t get two lots of excuses!

But really, the terrain in the Douro Valley in Portugal is not suitable for a novice runner. You wouldn’t want me to risk the IC, would you? And there were those distractions - the boat trip, the lovely food, the wineries.... 🍷 Even a tortoise likes wine in Portugal, it turns out. And it was sunny all week! 🌞

But now I am back, and the sun is shining here, so I was out across the fields early-ish this morning. And RunKeeper was polite enough to say “second fastest run at this distance” instead of “slower than ever you lazy tortoise” (it only has 4 to compare 😂). So all is good & I am back on track.

And I can totally recommend Porto and the Douro Valley, but not for running! 😊🍷
