Warmup / Cooldown by running?

I’ve noticed that some training plans use a slow run instead of a brisk walk for this. Does this sound like a good idea? I picked up the habit of a 5 minute start / end walk from C25K but I’m wondering if it uses a walk because the participants aren’t used to running.

Hmmm don’t know. I think I’ll stick to walking because there doesn’t seem to be much difference between my fast and slow running.

Hi Ski. Yeah slow runs for warm up/warm down replace the walking. That said each to their own approach. As long as you do both correctly your achieving the same thing 😎

That said they can still be bad for you if your cool down run entails running into the back of a parked car because your distracted checking your Garmin....trust me you only do it once 😂😂😂🙃🤕

Thanks for confirming that. Must admit that I hadn't considered trying to avoid parked cars on the cool down run.
