Hi everyone. Thought I'd introduce myself in B210K as I've not posted here before (though I've been lurking for a while).

Graduated C25k a week ago so am not ready to start building up again for a few weeks. But I've got my plan sorted for the rest of the year and have just put the finishing touches to a first draft of a parkrun tourist plan, which I'll share in due course.

So hi all. It's great to be here!

Welcome pianism! Since you’ve been lurking for a bit, you’ll know there are lots of familiar faces here. Enjoy your consolidation and share your plans as you feel ready 😊

Thank you for the welcome. I was just reading your post on Introverts and trail running on the other forum... the bit about "over-sharing" prompted a knowing smile! :)

Hi Pianism, we’ve met in the ck25 forum! I’m a beginner at this next stage too. Sounds like you have an organised plan, how did you manage that? 😁

Pianism profile image
PianismGraduate10 in reply toCatMo13

Well, I do like a spreadsheet... :) And there's so much experience and advice available on here. I've enjoyed following people's journeys and reading the advice they've got on their trials and tribulations, and while I'm doing that I dream about how my own journey will pan out. I've found over the past few years that once I make an excel tracker, things seem to happen much more reliably! 🤓

Gosh Excel tracker is way above my spreadsheet knowledge! Give me photoshop though and I’ll be okay 😁 I tend to just be having vague goals. I may join Ju-jus 10km though as lots of people recommend it.

Hi CatMo13! I graduated in November last year and started 'consolidation' by maintaining 3x runs a week but extending the running time by 10% each week stopping at 44 minutes as my running buddy could just about manage that.

After that the plan was to do the 44 minutes run, then intervals mid-week, and parkrun at the weekend.

It helps to keep doing something new so you don't just go through the motions.

Join the Strength & Flex forum for support on non running activities too.

Welcome to the adult club (or maybe it’s just teenager club as there is a marathon club too). In any case, welcome!

Welcome Pianism! Good to see you here👍🏼

We dont think of this forum as big school, its more an adventure playground for when our C25k graduates want to try a bit more of the previous game🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻😀

Have fun, enjoy, keep running 🙏🏼

I love a bit of lurking 😀. Congratulations on your graduation too. Such a fabulous achievement. And park run tourist in the planning too. Sounds like you have this sorted ✅.

Hi Katnap, I know we’ve met on here before - wasn’t it celebrity parkruns ? I ran for 51 mins today , longest ever run of 6km, so am happy with that right now. Yes the 10% sounds a good plan, with that in mind I may have run a little too long, as last week my longest run was 5km in 32.12 - I was trying my hardest there for a PB! Happy running to you 😁🙌

😂 Reminds me of when I first came over here - it felt like I was joining the grown ups!

Looking forward to seeing you on your journey - which sounds scarily organised to me!

The main thing is to run whatever makes you happy 😊.

Just like all the best laid plans, it will go completely awry... and I'll enjoy it just as much nonetheless. :)

Welcome Pianism and congratulations on your c25k graduation! Having a plan sorted for the rest of the year is very impressive ! 😀

Thank you. I'm utterly rubbish without a plan... but also I'm a bit obsessed at the moment so it gives me something to do whilst I'm not running! :)

Welcome Pianism, you’ve had the benefit of actually meeting some of our virtual running buddies at Parkrun yesterday. They are a lovely group of people and there’s so much advice and support. I hung around the bridges for about 3 months before I moved on to juju’s plan to 10k so there is no rush to move on in distance or time.

Have fun - you are a runner.🏃‍♂️🎹

Thank you. Yes, my plan is to consolidate and strengthen for 10 weeks before moving up to 10k. I've got another 4 stone to lose so there's still quite a bit of extra weight putting pressure on my body and my tendons are struggling to catch up with what the rest of me can now do. Had an injury scare on C25K week 8 so need to be very careful not to take unnecessary risk. :)

It sounds like you’ve got a good plan.

Hiya Pianism, welcome to the B10K clan, you’re more than qualified to take your place here 😀 I’d completely forgotten that by your stage in C25K I’d already injured myself with hip bursitis and had to take a few weeks out, so you’re doing brilliantly listening to your body. Looking forward to following your progress and hopefully running with you again one day soon 👍👍👍
