I went out for my usual run on Thursday night - all be it shorter (7k) as the day had been taken over by an all staff away day. It was windy and very wet but i felt great that i did it. The gremlins were out in force trying to convince me to give it a miss, most eager about not having the normal time to run in and the wind/rain factor but i won the battle!
Saturday i went out for my 10k - very fortunately for me it was sunny with quite a wind - always coming towards me not pushing from behind - but hey i like a challenge I took the trusty Asics as i knew my route was gonna be muddy - i didn't want to muddy my new trainers lol. Well i have now officially retired them...blisters on the ball of me feet - never had that before. They are relegated to general walking about with the kids. Lesson learnt - i will just have to clean the new ones (which aren't that new now but i'm sure you understand) I just reached home when the sky turned black and the heavens opened - how's that for timing
Feeling good, feeling strong. Hope you all have a happy running week x

Sound like a good couple of runs to me - shame about the blisters though! If you regularly enjoy muddy runs, maybe it's time for some trail or hybrid shoes?? (Any excuse for more shoes!)
I know exactly what you mean about dirtying new runners. Mine are quite new still, and I have to admit to wearing my old ones to parkrun last time as there was rain forecast, not even mud! I can’t protect them forever, and I know once they get dirty for the first time it’ll be a slippery slope! Like getting a new car years ago and forbidding the kids to eat in it when they were young, then one of them spilled hot chocolate one day and it was all over! 😅😅
Happy running to you! You’re sounding like you’re in a great place. Fabulous! 👏👏👊👊
