Well I clocked up 3 runs this week. I’d hoped to do 4 but I was sensible and gave myself an extra rest day yesterday as I jammed my foot walking down off a kerb I didn’t realise was there 🤦♀️ and it was quite tender for a while. Luckily the rest did the trick and I felt pain free and springy today! 😀👍
I set off earlier than my previous 2 runs, and the cool air felt amazing when I stepped out. I walked briskly down to the promenade - it’s a good 10 minute walk - and started running. 🏃♀️🏃♀️
What struck me was how beautifully clean everything was for a Sunday morning. (You couldn't say that in Bristol after a Saturday night’s revelry!) Shop keepers and restaurant staff were bustling away preparing their establishments for another busy day of tourists - mostly Brits - and it felt vibrant even though it was fairly early. Plenty of other walkers and runners out too. Some casually trotting along (me), some gazelles, some power walking, some meandering - it felt great to be out and (sorry) great that it wasn’t yet too hot! ☀️☀️☀️
I did an out and back along the prom, taking in 3 different beaches, again all pristine, and I clocked up 5.8k. So this holiday I’ve done 5.3k, 5.1k and 5.8k. Happy with that! 😀
Home tomorrow. ✈️ But first we have one last day on the beach. It’s been a lovely holiday, totally enhanced by my runs! 🏃♀️☀️🏖 We’re so very lucky to have running in our lives aren’t we? ❤️

Oh your post has brought sunshine to my day too Cheeky! Reminded me so much of the summer time runs that I absolutely loved!! Well done on clocking up those runs! You deserve to feel amazing!! 🤗🤗❤️
Thanks AlMorr, it’s super warm. We’re just having a coffee then heading for the beach one last time. Preparing for the chill when we return tomorrow. Back to reality!
It’s amazing O505. I’m pretty sure I could have clocked up 10k on my route if I’d felt so inclined. But 5.8k was perfect for me today. It’s a lovely place to run, and I fully recommend it if you come back here one day! I intend to! 😀🏃♀️☀️❤️
Sounds lovely cheekychipmunks ...and sounds like it's dome you the world of good...hope you packed.a raincoat for your return to Blighty, don't know where you're heading home to but it's rained none stop for 4 days in Yorkshire x
How lovely to run while on your warm spring holiday cheeky. Enjoy your last day on the beach and prepare for strong winds in the West Country. 🏃♀️😎🍹🏄♀️🏊🏻♀️⛱
My poor husband was meant to be racing (rowing) at Monmouth today - it was cancelled which shows how nasty the weather has been. Back to reality for us tomorrow evening, but we’ll have fabulous memories of our girls’ week away. We’re planning next year’s already! 😀☀️🏖
Thank you Baddie! I like running in new places and these felt great. Such a difference wearing the bare minimum of running gear. I’ll be all layered up on my next one. Oh well! 🏃♀️
Well it was just a bit drizzly when I went out and when it got bad I was 3 miles away from home. I did think about phoning the cavalry but didn't want to give in!
What a great post, I almost felt I was there enjoying the beautiful morning too. Instead of these gale force winds. Have a good journey and come back reinvigorated for some pleasant 🤞upcoming spring runs at home😀
Thanks Runsome, it has been a special week and whereas it’ll be a culture shock running back in multiple layers, it’ll still be fun! 🏃♀️ Running is always fun! 😀
Oh Jell, I’m sad you’re unwell, but as you say, if the weather is shocking it’s as good a time as any. I’ll pack some sunshine and warmth in my suitcase for all my VRBs! ☀️☀️☀️
Sounds like you're having a lovely holiday enhanced by your runs. Enjoy your last day and soak up as much sun as you can. Coz it's cold wet and windy back here 🌨☔🌬🌧
Thanks BBR, it felt fantastic being out with fellow runners and walkers before the throngs of sunseekers emerged on a Sunday morning. Running tourism is such fun. 😀
Just enjoying a last stint on the beach before heading back to the hotel to pack. Booo!
Oh yes Bridget, thanks we did! All packed now, ready to head to the airport in the morning. Running will be back to normal next week. Oh well, it’ll still be fun! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
You packed a lot into your holiday, I swear I can almost feel the sun when you describe it ☀️☀️☀️ really hope you manage to bring some back with you 😎 😁 I'm also hiding indoors with a cold, so your posts are very welcome!
I’m going to bottle some sun and warmth up for all my VRBs! It’s been so pleasant running in the bare minimum of clothes - no layers required. I guess I’ll need to get used to it again next week though .... oh well. 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
You must be back by now, I hope the weather isn’t too much of a shock to you 🥶 🌪☄️🌊 (ok, maybe a slight exaggeration, I just wanted to be able to use the fireball 😁).
Well done getting those runs in on holiday, I could feel the warmth coming off your post 🌞
Yes, back now TC. 😳 When’s my next holiday???!!! 😩 Loving your emojis by the way - I’m guilty of being rather extravagant with them, so anything goes as far as I’m concerned! 😅
I can hear the wind howling outside and I’m working out which day to brace myself for a run. I think it’ll end up being tomorrow as I have lots to do today (and maybe tomorrow will be less windy? 🤞🤞)
Crikey, if tomorrow is worse I might treat myself to another rest day. There’s plenty to keep me busy round the house (I’ll make sure of that!)
I don’t fancy treadmill running after a lovely week away. I don’t think I’d be able to stand the tedium! Hats off to you if you do 10k on it. I think I’d actually fossilize. 💤 💤 Paint drying would be light relief! 😅😅
Yeah, I know! I was going to chicken out of it but I’m inspired by Irish-John who’s done 10 miles on one 😱. They’ve got YouTube on them at the gym, so as long as the picture doesn’t bounce up and down (like it did when I did the occasional C25K run on them), I might just try to see how long I can stand it. I’m going to research what I can watch before I go, perhaps some hypnosis channel that transports you to something interesting somewhere...🤞
