Just couldn’t get out today and only managed one run since graduation (it was with my brother who was visiting). I have been busy then ill but it’s hard not having a plan but hoping a Park Run on Saturday will give me back my mojo!
And maybe JuJu will have a new plan starting soon. I have learnt that I need structure!

Yeah when I graduated I felt a bit lost initially. Then I just went out and ran 🤷🏻♂️. Not really aiming for anything as such. Just pushing myself a little and adding a little distance over time.
I think it was made worse by the fact I was so busy after I couldn’t run. Had I been able to run straight after I would have just gone on with it but once you stop... it’s hard!
Plus the weather is dreadful this pm otherwise I might be tempted. I wont think about it next time and just go
The weather wasn't all that great today CP2, cold and windy compared to just a few days ago so don't worry about not getting out today. You still have 5/30 minute consolidation runs to do before thinking about going to 10K, you could run some of the consolidation runs with your brother. Good luck for your parkrun on Saturday. 😊
Oh boo. ☹️ Know how you feel. ☹️☹️ The icy wet blasts being sent by the Weather Gods sure don’t help either. And feeling ill is the pits.
Let’s start a new week on Saturday! You have your Park Run and I should be back to some level of energy after my chest infection and we’ll both get off the blocks and on to a new phase. Consolidation here we come ... On with the running for Spring. 👍
So many choices after graduation. Lots of things to get excited about, intervals, consolidation runs, exploratory runs somewhere new, C25k+ podcasts, but the weather is not playing ball. I didn't go out this morning either 🙄
Hi CP2, I’ve started following the Zenlabs 10K app programme and doing the Race at your Pace 50 miles in March challenge to keep me structured, it’s working so far. I’ve still not done a park run yet, it’s on my hit list to do soon.
Good luck with your Parkrun on Saturday. After the elation of graduation, I was a bit lost also but Parkrun became the new plan - every Saturday morning, come rain, sun or snow, its become one of better my habits
I found it hard to adjust to a more flexible approach after graduating, took a while to get to grips with letting go of the 3 a week obsessive running. However once adjusted it works well and apart from injury time I've managed 2-3 a week. I started by increasing my 30 minutes to doing 5km and worked on that for a while then just gradually increased. I hope you get yourself into a nice new routine that suits you.
Don't let the weather put you off, after the warm up walk it is lovely and refreshing to run in the rain and wind!
During the programme I run in wind, rain, snow (accidentally ice too) and nothing could stop me but yes now it's harder. I'm starting to get ideas for a plan now so hopefully next post from me, I"ll be more sorted! Thanks for sharing your experience with me
