Lost my mojo.

Morning Folks. I was happily doing my couch to 5K Amd graduated. Then my hubby decides he’s going to start, he never exercises so I thought I’d encourage him and do some runs with him whilst he got started.

The trouble is my fitness level went back and then I stopped running all together. I’ve now fell Off the wagon and I’m eating all kinds of crap beating myself up (first thing I do is run to food).

I didn’t know what to do when I finished couch to 5K and I think that gap made it possible to loose track. I’m gonna have to go back probably to about week 6 in couch 2 5K and then try and finish it again to get my fitness levels up. I’m so frustrated with myself.

How do I find that Ju Ju plan that everyone is talking about please

Thanks for your help x

Hi LittleLath! Don’t panic, your fitness levels will still be good. I consolidated for a long time after C25K - do you have a parkrun nearby? They are a great way of still challenging yourself and still getting encouragement and motivation.

The current session of Ju-Ju’s plan has just finished and there is usually one just around the corner when they end, but you don’t have to wait for it to get started again. If you follow the Pinned Posts on the right of the B10K webpage there’s lots of pages of the plan.

Well done getting your hubby to run! I hope he can help get you back to where you want to be x

Get back to fitness with Ju Ju. 💪👍😃🏃‍♀️ She does a progress film clip each week to spur you on 😃

Stop eating crap! Simples 🤷‍♀️ Once you get back into training you’ll be wanting to spring clean your diet

Good luck with it, and have fun 👍😃🏃‍♀️ Yeeeeeeeeha !

I can relate a little. For me it was not knowing where to go. The C2–>5km is really motivating as it’s gradual and well regarded. I was hoping they would do a C2–>10km. I found a couple of apps/programmes yet didn’t have the same feel.

I’m now using an app I used years ago when I was really fit (lolo). I had used this for British 10km run back in 2013. Was great! Much better than when I did my first 10km back in 2009! (I was so fit back then that I didn’t think I needed to train at all. So the Sat before the run (Sun) I did my usual combat, pump and spinning. I ran onSunday then on Tuesday I literally couldn’t get out of bed for work. Rude shock!

But yeah, I hear you.

Your mojo is still there yet it’s taking a bit a break from greatness.

Training with husband/partner is sometimes fun, yet when you’re training in your own flow then training alone may feel more rewarding. You can set your own mini-challenges within the run. It’s a time to be with you: like a secret special place. You’re one with you, your body and mind. It’s actually really special.

You’ve established motor memory already, so you’re more ahead than you may realise. Re hubby - you can be proud that he’s giving it a go. When he’s found his running flow he can possibly join you. Yet training is yours and perhaps explaining this may help.

Frustration is just another way of saying ‘I’m letting myself down’. You’re not, you’re trying to find a 10km programme flow. You’ll get there. This is a journey and not really a destination. The 10km is a milestone just like 5km was. The bumps you experienced with 5km you’re experiencing with 10km. The difference excitement about 10km is kicking in and you’re focused on getting it.

I’ll ping you juju programme. There are plenty of paths to 10km milestone.

You’re doing it. Be a little more patient with yourself.

It’s a little glitch that’s all.

Strangely, that’s the exact opposite of how it went for me. I’ve always run a bit, but was just doing increasingly rare Parkruns until my OH started C25K - I started running with her and now run 3 times most weeks, have my max distance up to 14K, and sights set on the Great South in October - 22 years after the last one!

The mojo will return 😀
