Where to start - post C25K

Hi all - I’m so sure this has been asked so so many times. Please bear with me!

I graduated C25K today - I’m buzzing and really proud of myself. And I’m also already looking forward. What next? I think looking towards a 10km is a good target. But what program do I use? Where do I go? I’m a bit confused as to what app/podcast to use. Any advice would be so appreciated.

Thanks in advance ❤️

Congratulations on the C25K graduation... sorry I missed your post over there.

First... celebrate well, it’s a big achievement, so few of the population can even run a mile.

Next... it’s advised to run 30 minutes until it’s comfortable/easy before moving on. Consolidation like this is advisable every few months. After that? Maybe you need to close out the 5k... then I guess you’re feeling the pull to 10k as you’re here... ju-ju-‘s plan (see the pinned posts) is by far the best way to get there as a continuation on C25K.

Hi Hayz

Congrats on completing C25K! Have you put your name down to receive your badge on here?

One of your options is to follow Ju-Ju's Magic Plan on this site. She's one of the admins for Bridge 2 10K so her posts should be easy to find.

Congratulations on your huge achievement. My advice would be to not rush into the next stage too quickly. Just carry on running 30 minutes 3 times a week. If you push too hard you face potential injury, not being able to run and you lose all momentum. Look after your body and don't forget to rest in between each run. Maybe try to improve your speed before making a big leap distance wise. Congratulations again and just enjoy the feeling of becoming a runner. Also treat yourself to some lovely new running shoes😂😂😂😂

Consolidation then Ju-Ju’s bridge to 10km. I use C25K+ podcasts and Tedtalk podcasts. Good luck👍

Do a few runs just for the enjoyment of being able to go out and run for half an hour. No pressure.

Congratulations on doing C25K 👏👏

I did a couple of weeks of just enjoying running and then gradually built up my distance each week.

Using an app helped me - I think Runkeeper is great 😁
