Need to get back on track!! Stupid cold...

I was doing jujus plan and all was on track until I came down with a cold about 2 weeks ago... I thought I was getting better and then it just stuck around and came back with a vengeance! So frustrating! Anyway, it feels like it's just the sniffles and a bit of a headache now so thought I'd try and run.. I read the advice on here about it being OK if it feels like your illness is above the neck.. I did have a cough but that's gone now. I managed a slow 4k on the treadmill, but felt fine throughout... I was upto week 5 in the programme having already done the 4 and 5 for that week... I figure I'll do a 5k in a couple of days then do the missing 8k before carrying on with the next week.. I'd literally just started a scuba diving course too so am missing out on that aswell! I started running about a year ago, and this is the first time something has actively stopped me from doing it (aside from life getting in the way and my own laziness!)... Fingers crossed I'm back to normal soon!!

Oh it is so frustrating I know, when illness gets in the way of your running plans! It happens to the best of us. But it’s really important to rest up and recover. Running is for life, and you WILL get back on track. I mean, what’s the hurry? 🤔 I do hope you are feeling much better soon. I get stir crazy when I cannot run now, but it feels that much sweeter when you can get back to it. 😁 Take cats of yourself. x

Glad you’re feeling better. You’ll be back on track before you know it 🏃‍♀️👍

If its just sniffles and a headache you should be ok - but at an easy pace. Hope it goes well 😀

Well I got back to it, and now have a foot problem instead! So disappointed as was looking forward to doing a run at the weekend and then couldn't :( The frustration is I don't know what the problem is. I have a dodgy ankle anyway from a break/dislocation years ago, but now it's like the part where my foot bends feels like it's giving out randomly and is really painful when it does! Not sure if it's just another throwback to my injury or something else... Grr! Anyway, I'm going to listen to my body and hope that it sorts itself out soon!! So close to 10k too!!
