Whinlatter Parkrun..fab location but tough!

Staying in The Lake District and wanted to try a local Parkrun. Whinlatter is really really hilly..I had to walk some of it, as did many much younger than me too, but well worth it..fab location and encouraging volunteers. I was very struck by a lady in an age category 20 years up from mine who did not stop..she ran the whole way at a steady pace

Sounds fun RunningBugs. Very humbling to see how some 'older' runners can give us something to aim for!

I was in the lake District when I was on week 7, I think, of the c25k. I looked at the whinlatter course and decided I wasn't quite ready for it -and I'm still not! 🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely beautiful there, though, so maybe one day. I ran next to the lake in Keswick instead, which is where my profile photo is from. Well done for completing the course, Mr grumpy went mountain biking there, so it couldn't have been easy to run!

Your profile pic is lovely...next time I’m there I shall try Keswick. Hopefully the groundwork’s that are on at the mo will be finished and it will be open again

Oh I didn't know about the groundworks. Definitely need another visit 😊
