Hello running friends.
Apologies for not being on much the last few days, even though I haven't started my new job yet and was off all last week it was all very busy.
I did get out yesterday and did nearly 15k but that was a run/walk effort just taking in the lovely weather we are enjoying.
Set out for a proper long run this afternoon as I still have quite a few KMs to go to get to my 100 for this month.
The first half of my route found me pounding along the country lanes north and east of Dinnington. Signs of spring everywhere with the hedgerows beginning to bud, blackbirds, robins and even a couple of mistle thrushes singing and a few bluebells and daffodils showing signs of life although I'm sure things are much more advanced further south.
This half of the run felt good and pacey with the only obstacles to dodge being a couple of horse riders but as soon as I came back into the built up areas of Wideopen and Hazelrigg it was back to dodging cars, dogs and pedestrians, hopping on and off kerbs and waiting for green traff lights.
My rhythm went as, at the end, did my legs and I just missed getting the overall pace below 7 minutes per km which is always a target on long runs for me.
Still an enjoyable run though and long may this weather continue.
Hopefully everyone has been able to get out and enjoy it.
Run happy, run safe.
