Hi everyone! Feeling good that I’ve just completed my first 7K and week 3 of the 10K plan. I felt I’d hit a bit of a barrier until today - I’d been thwarted by the ice and snow a couple of weeks ago and also felt that because I live in a hilly area, I was struggling with the longer distances.
So I had the brainwave of heading to a nearby park which has a flat (yay!!) 1K path all around it. Okay, so it wasn’t the most exciting of runs doing 7 laps 🥴,but a good podcast and a jelly baby kept me going! It was so much easier to keep a steady pace on the flat and I now feel that 10k is achievable. I’m signed up for the Manchester 10K in May, so hopefully I’ll be ready by then. If I do manage it, it will be almost exactly a year since I graduated from C25k . I’ve never felt better!
Enjoy your running, peeps! 🏃♀️

Hi & well done on your 7k! I live in a hilly area too and 'cheat' by doing my longer runs in the valley along canal paths etc. At least it means I can cope with 10k and put the hills back in when I want to for a longer distance! Good luck with the programme - it's great! 🙂
Well done - hills can be a bit demoralising on the longer runs for sure but any serious runners I know swear by them. Me? I just swear at them and avoid them where I can 😂
