First 13k done

Off the back of the excitement of the Isabel Trail parkrun in Stafford yesterday I went out and ran a 13k this morning. I took active measures to remain hydrated and energised through the run and it seemed to work - my legs weren’t fresh by the end but they remained more alive than my recent 11 and 12k efforts.

Reaching my turn point is just near to the Middlewood Way which some local to here will know. This opens up a range of options if I can manage to go further in the future...or I can stay on the A6 towards Hazel Grove.

Enjoy your next run x

It’s not how far you run but what you get from it. 5k is still a good run.

Ooh if only I had my little emoji with the rolling eyes 😂 5k is certainly good enough for me and fortunately I buzz easily 😊🐝 but 13!13!?? Let me be impressed 🤗 (and you Clooney, have your moment!) x

Ha ha.... what are they ?

I was okay... and enjoyed it...but for the life of me cannot think why I keep starting my runs by going up the longest grinding hill around!!! Just loopy I guess!

Thanks Oldfloss. My calves and knees are certainly aware that I’ve run this weekend!

Happy running! Well done Jay!

Hydration afterwards I find really helps with recovery too. I think it was UnfitNoMore who passed on that helpful tip.

Before suffering my 'rhabdo' attack I didn't take much notice but now I use the colour of my (ahem) water as a guide to hydration levels.

It was our chat yesterday led me to run with the water bladder today. And it certainly helped, so thanks!

Well done Jay, that was amazing. The 18k you did over the weekend is 11.185miles so I think you will soon reach your 10mile goal.

Great job.

You don’t want to listen to Flaraflarkin - I think she’s overdue her next Specsavers appointment.

Well Done Jay. After a year of running it’s ok to do 2 runs on the trot. I’ve never had the inclination myself, but you’re doing great and I think your new plan of increasing distance is working for you. Once you do 10 miles the Great South Run is available to you.
