Off the back of the excitement of the Isabel Trail parkrun in Stafford yesterday I went out and ran a 13k this morning. I took active measures to remain hydrated and energised through the run and it seemed to work - my legs weren’t fresh by the end but they remained more alive than my recent 11 and 12k efforts.
Reaching my turn point is just near to the Middlewood Way which some local to here will know. This opens up a range of options if I can manage to go further in the future...or I can stay on the A6 towards Hazel Grove.
Enjoy your next run x

Woah there! 13?? Thats 3 more than you told me you were gonna do! Well done Jay 🤗👊 I'm back on the Isabel tomorrow morning before I head back to Essex on Tuesday 😊
He did do great, he always does 😊 And you did 10!! That's so impressive too- thank you it won't be a long one for me tomorrow (no change there!) but I shall be reminiscing 😊xx
Ooh if only I had my little emoji with the rolling eyes 😂 5k is certainly good enough for me and fortunately I buzz easily 😊🐝 but 13!13!?? Let me be impressed 🤗 (and you Clooney, have your moment!) x
I was okay... and enjoyed it...but for the life of me cannot think why I keep starting my runs by going up the longest grinding hill around!!! Just loopy I guess!
Well Done Jay. After a year of running it’s ok to do 2 runs on the trot. I’ve never had the inclination myself, but you’re doing great and I think your new plan of increasing distance is working for you. Once you do 10 miles the Great South Run is available to you.
